Celebrate Garangao this year with events organized by Qatar Museums for children and families to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Fire Station Garangao
Garangao is considered one of Qatar’s special celebrations, especially loved by children. Fire Station invites the public to enjoy their very own Garangao celebration, including a magic show, Garangao give aways, and face painting. There will also be food and beverage kiosks selling refreshments. This event is free to attend.

Create Your Own Garangao Bag Workshop at Museum of Islamic Art
The Museum of Islamic Art’s Garangao invites children to take part in this creative workshop where they will create and embellish their very own bags to be filled with traditional candy and treats. Register for the session here.

Garangao Night in NMoQ
Grab your Garangao bag and roam around the old palace in celebration of Garangao. The programme will be held in Arabic.

Here are the opening hours for Qatar Museums during Ramadan:
- Saturday to Thursday: 9 am - 2 pm & 8 pm - 12 am; Friday: 8 pm - 12 am (First Day of Eid al-Fitr: Closed)
The revised opening hours for Al Zubarah Archaeological Site are:
- Saturday to Thursday: 10 am - 2 pm; Friday: 12 pm - 3 pm
