Location: QMA Gallery (Building 10) in Katara, Doha

This exhibition aims to understand the history of the Arab Games (also known as Pan- Arab Games), their creation and development from the birth of the idea in the year 1947 until today. Emerging in the Post-War period, the Arab Games can be considered as one of the various Regional Games created in the 1950s and 1960s (like the Asian Games, Pan American Games or the Mediterranean Games).

The Arab Games have always reflected the political situation of the Arab world and therefore cannot be seen only as a sports event. The 12th edition of the Arab Games will be held in December 2011 in Doha with an expectation of 8000 athletes in 38 different sports disciplines. The exhibition will accompany this mega-event for Qatar and the Arab World.
